I KNOW I know, filming yourself can be scary.
hearing your own voice, is arguably even worse.

But I’d be lying if I said that it wasn’t important.

Feeling comfortable on camera is a skill built from practice, and the art of simply doing it.

However, here are three ways to feel a little bit more comfortable, and confident on camera:

1. Holding something. By holding an object, you can put the stressful energy into the object that you’re holding versus paying attention to your actions or movements. Think of it like a stress ball🙂‍↕️

2. Continue filming, regardless if you make a mistake. By stopping the video every time you make a mistake, it leads you to further overthinking. Further stress. And furthering your fear of filming yourself. Just continue filming, and there’s a good chance we can make something magic happen.✨

3. Don’t use selfie mode. Selfie mode is safe; you can see everything that’s going on, you can see your face - it makes you feel more in control. But that’s where shit goes down. Then you start to overthink how you look, your words, your actions. It arguably makes it 10 times worse.🫣

And let’s be honest, there’s no such thing as a perfect video. It’s just about about making those imperfections work in ways you didn’t expect. Letting go of that need for control (I’m guilty of this) for the “perfect video”, and just getting it done.

Not every social media marketer works the same way - and that’s what makes this industry so creative.

These are a few of the controversial things I don’t do… not because anyone else is wrong, but because this approach is what I’ve found truly works for me and my clients.

One of my favorite parts of this work is turning a single day of filming into two months of content! 🕺🪩

It starts with a strategy chat, then a walk-through on the day of the shoot so we’re both clear on what we’re capturing.

From there, it’s just creating, having fun, and letting the ideas flow. 📸

Afterward, I spend time polishing, writing captions, and organizing everything into a neat little library so it’s easy to find or schedule later.

But, why 1 day for 2 months? It’s simply because business owners are busy.

Instead of trying to squeeze in shoots week by week, or month by month, we dedicate one focused day every two months to capture EVERYTHING. One full day to hash it all out.

Yes, it’s a full and busy day, but afterward the rest is seamless, and all your content is ready, organized, and off your plate. That way, you can get back to running your business without worrying about what to post!☺️
